Dear Members,
In just under a hundred days, our beloved Bengal Club will turn 200!
As we count down to this historic milestone, we look forward to celebrating the moments and memories, traditions and friendships that have made the Club such an integral part of our lives.
Very few institutions anywhere in the world can claim such a rich heritage and enduring relevance over two centuries. It is generations of members who have built, nurtured and strengthened this remarkable institution, making it what it is today.
As we prepare for our Bicentenary celebrations, we would love every member to be part of this journey — by sharing stories, memories, photographs and ideas that will help us bring the many facets of The Bengal Club’s history to life.
As mentioned in my earlier communication, if you have something to share, please reach out to Arthita Ray (+91 9830064267) from Team Allcap or our CEO, Dinyar Mucadum (+91 9831075639).
Another initiative we are exploring is the creation of a Living History Room at the Club — a space that brings together objects, memorabilia and personal recollections that tell the story of the Bengal Club through generations.
We invite members to share photographs, documents, souvenirs, artefacts or other items associated with the Club that could form part of this special collection. We fully appreciate that many of these items may be of personal or sentimental value. Any artefacts or memorabilia contributed on loan will be carefully looked after and returned to their owners at the agreed time. Contributors will also be duly acknowledged, including through appropriate attribution alongside items displayed, wherever feasible. The arrangements for the loan, display and return of any item will be discussed and agreed with the contributor beforehand.
Our Bicentenary is not just a celebration of 200 years of history. It is a celebration of the people who have made that history.
Let us come together to make this milestone a truly memorable one.
Warm regards,
Avijit Mukerji
